For those wanting to wet a line and go fishing Port Victoria boasts a 200m long town Jetty that was originally built in 1877 and used to be a thriving port for the export of grain to England. The pristine waters of the Spencer Gulf around and beyond Wardang Island are renowned for its great catches of King George Whiting, this area offers fantastic boat and jetty fishing with excellent catches of Whiting, Snapper*, Squid, Tommy Ruffs, Mullet and Garfish.
*The taking of Snapper is currently restricted until 30 June 2026.
For the boaties, the Port Victoria boat ramp provides pontoon launching facilities with a large breakwater as protection.
There is a daily $7.00 launching fee payable through a district council ticket machine at the ramp which takes coins, simply display the ticket on your vehicle dashboard. Tickets valid for 24 hours from time of purchase. You can also purchase a launch ticket online using the EasyPark app. Follow directions at the boat ramp to download.
We have plenty of room at Pegs Place for you to park your boat should you wish to bring it along and an undercover fishing cleaning area to clean your catch. Boat washdown and engine flush is available to our guests but we ask you
be mindful of all water use as we are on tank water.
